It was our 1st time seeing this section of the park. Usually we come for the frisbee golfing.
We even got to see a baby raccoon!
They have a really fun playground and nature center for the kids.
Another very cool place we recently visited was Big Rock Nature Preserve in south Charlotte.
The area is known for these gigantic rocks.
The kids enjoyed exploring the caves and climbing the rocks.
There's also this gorgeous trail that leads to a small creek.
The other day we discovered tons of blackberry bushes nearby our house!
So every other day we walk down the street and pick a bowl full.
Last week the McMahon family, our friends we lived with last July, visited from Knoxville. They moved to TN just after we moved to NC.
The kids were outside early in their pjs playing with the frogs they caught the night before. They stayed 2 nights and we all enjoyed being together again.
We had a campfire with smores the night before they left.
The woods look so neat during a campfire with smokey sunbeams shining through the trees.
Every Friday Addy's friend Carmen from school comes over for the day while her mom is at work. It's been great girl time for Addy.
The best part of my summer has been having these guys home from school.
