Myrtle Beach

Last weekend we went to Myrtle Beach and stayed at Long Bay Resort. Addy found a sea urchin!

The kids were thrilled to be at the beach again.

The boogie boards were a fun addition to our beach toys. Josh enjoyed them the most.

The first day was warm and sunny so we stayed at the beach all day.

The resort made the beach more fun because they had a kids pool, lazy river, and 2 heated pools.

And we didn't have to leave for dinner. We ate at the resort cafe on the balcony.

Since we came in May the rates were much cheaper but the weather was also much cooler.

Our second day was cloudy and cool so we went mini golfing. It was so fun! Only Josh and I played and the kids were so entertained.

We bought this hermit crab for .99 from a t-shirt store and the kids played with him all weekend. They let him go on the beach before we left.

We stayed up way too late our 2nd night. The kids swam and played in the hottub.

We took an evening beach walk and saw tons of dead jelly fish. Jackson was so excited he took one back to our room so I could take a picture. We also got to see fireworks on the beach!

On our last day, Jackson woke up with a headache and puked. We figured the kids were exhausted so we left early. Despite what we've heard about it, we loved Myrtle Beach.

Asheville Trip

Grandma Neubauer came to visit last week. For this special occassion, we decided to go to Asheville.

On the way into town, we stopped for a hike to Catawba Falls. It was crazy beautiful and my favorite part of the entire trip.

It's so much more fun to hike when you get to see a big waterfall at the end of the trail.

This was the deepest part of the creek we had to cross. Go Grandma!

During the car ride, Addy pulled out Aaron's first loose tooth.

We walked around downtown Asheville. There were street musicians everywhere. I wish I got more pictures of my favorites.

Aaron thought this guy was a real statue. So I had him drop some money in his bucket to make him move. He still was not convinced.

We ate Carolina BBQ for dinner, went to the Asheville Botanical Gardens, and stayed in a hotel. Then off to the North Carolina Arboretum the next day.

We ate breakfast at the Asheville Farmers Market Restaurant. They brought fresh biskets and apple butter to the table...yum.

These yellow butterflies are so common around here. But I still get excited everytime I see one.

The kids all fell right to sleep when we got in the car so it was a peaceful drive home to Charlotte.
