Spring Break 2014

Yippy! We're going to the beach. We drove 3.5 hours to Ocean Isle Beach, NC for the weekend.
We stayed at a very cute place with plenty of room and a view of the ocean. The weather was perfect! Both days it was 70s and sunny.
Here's our first walk to the beach.
The kids were so excited. It was fun to see the joy in their faces.
Spring is a slower season at the beach so there were no crowds at all. The ocean is colder but we still went in.
The place we stayed had 2 outdoor pools and 2 hot tubs. The kids played in all of them.
Josh and I only got in the indoor pool and hottub because the others were way too cold for us.
The kids played play-doh poolside while we waited for our dinner to be ready from the tiki hut. So fun!
We took an evening stole along the beach before crashing early the first night.
The next morning we were ready for action.
The kids played with some new beach toys bought just for the trip.
The day was extra special because our friends Emily, Brent, & Jud came to hang out with us. I'm only friends with one parent in Jackson's class and her family just happened to be staying 15 minutes from us!
The kids stayed busy playing in the sand, in this case digging a huge hole.
They played in the waves, which were bigger than the day before.
The big boys even got to join in the fun.
The adults also did some relaxing in the shade.
Our sweet little Benny joined us. He never does this.
These guys could play all day in the biggest sandbox ever. We were out from 10 to 4 without coming inside.
Look at these two! We borrowed our friends boogie boards and they loved them.
We'll have to buy our own for next time.
Cute little classmates. Thanks for coming to play with us Newtons!
The last day of vacation, I got up early to walk the beach and see the sunrise. Sad to leave this beautiful place.
Although, I got over the beach very quickly once we got home and were greeted by even more flowers!!! I love CHARLOTTE.
