Deuteronomy 8:2

A good friend of mine gave me a picture with a beautiful scene of a sand path leading to the ocean at sunset. And this verse was on it 'Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way'. I cried when I read it. I'm feeling so thankful today for God's great blessings.
For Josh's birthday we took an overnight trip to the mountains!!! We explored a small section of the BlueRidge Parkway. First, we stopped at Linville Caverns. This was just in the parking lot.
Here's inside the cavern or what I call a cave.
We went on a 30 minute tour.
Next we hiked up to Linville Falls.
The natural beauty of this area is breathtaking. It's tough to capture in a picture.
Then we went to Grandfather Mountain. I didn't get any good pictures of the views because it was too foggy. He's a picture from the mile high suspention bridge.
We stopped at the side of the road to play on this rock.
Josh had to go to the top even though there was a warning sign. Jackson was quite proud of himself for making it through the crack. He's so adventurous! We stayed the night in Boone, NC. It's was gorgeous and we plan to go back soon.
When we got home from the mountains, we celebrated Jackson's 7th birthday. He got a lizard cage to keep all the lizards, salamanders and skinks we find around our house. So far we have 3 in the cage.
And the next morning for Jackson's actual birthday we celebrated by getting Krispie Cream donuts for breakfast. Jackson refused to be in the picture or wear the hat.
Here's a picture of the house we're renting. Hopefully we can buy a home that's in the woods like this one. We also like that it's small and low maintenance. We just met our only neighbor the other day.
The kids stared school on Thursday at Metrolina Christian Academy! There are other Christian schools closer but this one was the most affordable. I hope we like it. There's about 60 students per grade K-12 which is a great size. And they drop off and pick up from the car so I don't have to hull the little boys in and out.
Addy's teacher is the nicest person ever! She hugs everyone she sees. And she has a southern accent and calls Addy darlin and sweetheart. I was happy to hear there are 3 new girls in Addy's class.
On Friday night we went to my favorite park and brought our bikes to go on the greenway. This area has miles of what they call greenways or paved trails that connect parks and neighborhoods. They are awesome!!! We saw our first owl at this park.
We're hoping all our kids learn how to ride bikes without training wheels this year. Terrible I know that they still don't know how.
Josh got to rollerblade on the trail. He's so good at it! I'm glad he has a place to do it and the kids have a place they can ride bikes and not have to worry about cars. My legs are still sore after jogging/walking with the stroller trying to keep up.
There is even a creek that runs along the greenway. I'm just loving being outdoors so much. It just makes me feel more alive.
Everything around here is so beautiful. I love it.
Today we explored a gorgeous park 30 minutes away in South Carolina.
This place had everything including horses, donkeys, cows, and goats roaming in the meadows.
Tons of hiking trails.
A creek with a suspension bridge.
And a beautful lake with wooded campsites bordering it. We packed a picnic and spent the day here.
Stay tuned for our next adventure.
