I'm so amazed by God's PERFECT timing in all of this... #1 Joyce was able to come before the snow and stay with the kids. She had an important appointment on Tues that had to be canceled due to snow, enabling her to be here. Also, Addy had been sick 4-5 days with a high fever and ear infection. She finally felt better around the time Joyce came. And no one else got sick!!!
#2 I started labor Monday morning just before Josh had to leave for work so he stayed home. Contractions were 15 minutes apart then started slowing down. I went into the office instead of the hospital hoping to be admitted before the snow.
#3 I was dilated 4 cm and sent to the hospital. The snow began around 3:00 so we were officially stuck at the hospital.
#4 The baby almost came out face up but at the last minute turned and came out the right way in only 3 contractions, with the cord wrapped twice around his neck, at 6:20pm. My body thankfully had no complications.
#5 My nurse during labor and delivery (in picture above) was an awesome girl named Cole from my MOPS group. I had met her a few times before and knew she worked on Tuesdays and every other weekend. God sent her to take great care of me. I had the longest and worst labor pains of any births. The epidural was really late because of an emergency c-section in another room. Cole helped me through it and found another anesthesiologist to give the epidural. I am so thankful for her.
I know these are all small things but Josh's work was closed on Wed due to snow so his patients were canceled regardless. Also, Addy's school was closed Wed and Thurs so she didn't have to miss while we were gone. And our garbage pickup was delayed 2 days so we were able to get our full garbage out this week. There were 9 babies born Tues before the blizzard. NONE were born from Tues at 11:30pm to Thurs morning at 6:30am. That's more than 24 hours! All the nurses said that never happens. So labor and delivery was empty all day Wed and the employees, stuck at the hospital, used the rooms for sleeping.
P.S. Thanks to our neighbors for plowing our driveway!

So glad you posted this, Jessie! And it was great to read the birth story and see the Lord's hand in all of it. That's amazing that no more babies were born from Tuesday to Thursday. Hope you recover perfectly this time. We have the same family - 3 boys and 1 girl! Love you guys, take care.
