Acadia National Park

We were able to squeeze in one last trip before the kids started school. D1: Cape Ann Whale Tour in Boston, MA. The view from where I sat and got drenched by waves.
Looks like a sunny day but it was cooler, windy and the sea was rough. The rest of the family saw more whales from the bow. I wish I had stayed with them!
It's tough to see but this is the whale's blowhole and spray.
Impressive tail.
After the whale tour, we drove 5hrs to Bar Harbor, ME and checked into the Bar Harbor Motel.
D2: Sunrise at Cadillac Mountain required a 4am entry ticket. The 1st sight of the sunrise in the continental US
Worth it!
Epic Benny sunrise pose.
Beehive, Gorham Mountain and Ocean Path loop 3.5m
Our 1st hike with metal rungs!
The trail was pretty crowded but the views were fabulous!
More rungs aka ladder steps build into the rocks.
Gorham Mountain peak at 525', nothing compared to our usual high elevation hikes.
It's a tradition!
Gorgeous! Notice Sand Beach in the distance.
Classic Acadia costal cliffs along the walk back.
Sand Beach on our way to Great Head Trail.
Looking back at Beehive, the mountain we just climbed.
Jackson and I saw a seal peek its head above water. Everyone else hoping to see it.
Pretty views from Sand Beach. Blessed with a beautiful day!
Birthday meal for Josh and Jackson! Fun but Josh was grossed out by some of parts.
Evening hike at Jordan Pond Path and South Bubble 3.5m
Views from the summit. Aaron and Benny stayed at the motel for this one.
The infamous Bubble Rock in the back ground. Not impressed.
I'm glad these two joined us.
Thankfully the way back was along this nice boardwalk.
Sunset view of North and South Bubble Mountains.
Sometimes this place reminded me of a tropical island.
D3: Free breakfast! The kitchen was open all day with free drinks, cereal and peanutbutter and jelly packs to make sandwiches for lunch.
The main attraction for us was the Precipice Trail!!
This trail is famous for it's metal rungs, cliffs and views.
Epic!!
I was hesitant to take the kids since age 12 and above was recommended.
But it looks way more dangerous in pictures. This was the best part!
Yay! We made it to the top. Good job people!
After lunch we went to explore the "hidden" Sea Anenome Cave.
The best view was from within.
Exploring tide pools.
Best creature find of the day. Pink starfish!
There were several crabs like this one.
A pretty picture of Sis.
Later in the day Addy napped while the rest of us hiked Beech Cliffs to Canada Cliffs 1.8m.
The best part was the ladders.
We picked Addy back up for sunset at Thunder Hole, which was underwhelming.
But the coastal sunset was magnificant.
Last stop was otter cliffs and we got to see another seal!
These two are such sweet friends.
D4: We took our time doing laundry and hanging out at the motel.
The kids played cornhole.
This was our room. Addy slept on the floor.
The boys room. The toughest part was having only one sink that was in the bathroom.
After Bar Island and a pizza lunch, we headed back to Boston. The traffic was terrible! On the way, we stopped to see Stephen Kings house in Bangor, ME.
At the airport the next morning. They are great travelers.
Heavenly.
